Sustainability Information - FAQs

Eastman Acetate Renew is a sustainable material derived from Eastman’s innovative carbon renewal technology that breaks down hard to recycle plastic waste into their original molecules to be used in place of virgin fossil feedstock. Made with approximately 40% certified recycled content* and 60% sustainably sourced bio-based content**, Acetate Renew significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions and fossil fuel usage when compared to conventional acetate manufacturing process. Unlike other sustainable alternatives, Acetate Renew is indistinguishable from traditional acetate, assuring wearers of the high quality and premium styles they expect.

*Third party certified recycled content allocated via mass balance approach.
** FSC and PEFC certified chain of custody.
