Lux and Luca capture Vinnie and Sophia searching for light in the darkness of insanity [Blimey – Ed]
Lux and Luca capture Vinnie and Sophia searching for light in the darkness of insanity [Blimey – Ed]
Luca Madar, photographer and filmmaker from Montpellier, France
What was the inspiration for your shoot?
Movies I can’t remember the names of, memories
of travelling, memories of love and brothership,
memories of boredom, my friends.
Who are the people in the pictures?
My friends Vinnie and Sophia. I love them
so much. Both of them look so good and
are the coolest.
What is your favourite piece in the collection?
I love the big leather bag because I always have
half my house on me when I go out. I also love
the striped cardigan, even though it’s too small
for me. The velvet pants I’m gonna get for sure,
and the pendants and shiny scarf.
Can you describe your shoot in three words?
Tender, candid, intimate.
What’s your advice for dressing well?
Wear your girlfriend or boyfriend’s clothes,
your mum’s clothes, buy stuff when you’re
travelling, find your colours, trade
clothes with your friends, refer to people
that you admire.

What was the inspiration for your shoot?
Friendship. Me and Luca have been on many
crazy adventures together – they have
been some of the best times of my life. I love
him and all the people we shot with. The
shoot was about preserving this beautiful
thing we have, having fun and making
beautiful pictures.
What is your favourite piece in the collection?
That’s a hard question but I’d go for the pea coat. Anything in leather is also up there.
Can you describe your shoot in three words?
Border control, elevator, yacht.
What’s your advice for dressing well?
If you feel confident and strong with
what you’re wearing then you’re doing
something right.
What’s something we should always remember?
To call your grandmother every now
and then.

Is there anything you wouldn’t do in the name of fashion?
Luca Madar:
I’d never do something in the name of fashion that I wouldn’t do in my own name.
Lux Gillespie:
There are lots and lots of things I wouldn’t do in the name of fashion.
