High Highs
Trio Jack Milas, Oli Chang and Zachary Lipkins make up High Highs. Initially formed from the long term friendship and composer partnership of Jack and Oli in Australia, NYC drummer, Zach followed to complete the band, who are now firmly settled in Brooklyn.
In this release, the band perform two tracks from their self-titled debut EP, 'High Highs', bringing a different type of electronic atmosphere to the Basement.

DJ Harvey, AKA Harvey Bassett, is one of the world's most famous cult DJs and producers of deep esoteric dance floor music.
Famed the world over for his eclectic sets and masterful use of rare musical gems, DJ Harvey has the ability to speak to the dance floor through the records he plays.
Hailing from Cambridge in England, Harvey now resides at Venice Beach in LA where he surfs and takes time out from his hectic global DJ schedule.
Basement Sessions travelled to the City Of Angels to meet with the legendary DJ at Mophonics studios in the heart of Venice Beach. We talk about his formative years in the UK, his era defining club nights Moist and Sarcastic Disco, his introduction to NYC and Hip Hop culture, approaches to production and his friendship with seminal New York DJ, Larry Levan. We also discuss his trashing of a priceless Bozak mixer at a recent festival appearance, his potential return to the UK after 10 years and the making of his recent Locussolus album.

We Have Band are a London based trio comprising of Darren Bancroft (vocals, drums, percussion, sampler), Dede Wegg-Prosser (vocals, percussion, sampler), and Thomas Wegg-Prosser (vocals, guitar, bass, programming).
The band have created their own unique sound by drawing influences from the likes of ESG, Animal Collective and The Rapture; translating it into a 21st Century mixtape that defies categorisation. We Have Band’s prime focus is on making people dance.
Following up on their widely acclaimed debut album ‘WHB’, the band now progress onto their eagerly anticipated second body of work, 'Ternion'.
Vocal and guitarist, Tom Wegg-Prosser elaborates on the bonus disc, stating, "‘Ternion Aside’ was inspired by The League Unlimited Orchestra’s ‘Love and Dancing’ LP. The idea of taking component parts from an original album recording and re-imagining them - creating a new and unique piece of music from what already existed whilst trying not to take a conventional remix approach. The first five tracks from ‘Ternion’ all worked within this concept and we love the way the music becomes something else."
AllSaints Basement Sessions caught up with WHB before they headed back out on the road and we were privileged enough to capture the first full live recording of their incredible new compositions.

Other Lives
Other Lives are five part band haling from Stillwater, Oklahoma. They recently graced the infamous AllSaints Basement walls with music from their highly acclaimed album 'Tamer Animals'.
The band originally formed in 2004 as ‘Kunek’, releasing one album in 2006 under that name. However, they have since embraced the changes carried through by new musicians and lead man Jesse Tabish to develop and grow the indie rock sound that Other Lives are know for today.

Bag Raiders are a electronic pop duo comprising of Chris Stracey and Jack Glass from Sydney, Australia. Signed to their country's mighty Modular Records, BagRaiders take on Disco House inflected pop has recently seen them tirelessly touring the world and achieving commercial success with their French Touch-influenced brand of hook-heavy electronic pop.

Stefan Goldmann
Stefan Goldmann is a Berlin-based producer, DJ, label owner and polemist. His deeply musical techno and house (along with the productions of artists like Dixon and Ame) spearheaded a new era of German dancefloor music in the early noughties.
Stefan's path is the one less travelled in dance music: from his innovative lock-groove polyrhythmic releases on his label Macro to his commissioned ballet soundtrack for the Nationaltheater Mannheim, he's managed to forge a new way forward without ever alienating the dancefloor where it all began.
AllSaints met Stefan in Berlin for an in-depth interview: they talk about his history, the music business and how Berlin became the Mecca for all things dance that it is today.

Formed In LA the guys from FTP create a blend of intently accessible and yet still Highly credible Alternative good pop, and there not much of that around these days.
They Shot to fame with the instant classic 'Pumped Up Kicks' from the their debut album 'Torches' which continues to impress Globally.
Foster The People also performed and alternative version of 'Houdini' for the Basement Sessions.

Black Devil Disco Club is the artist alias for Bernard Ferve, a French electronic disco musician, whose career began in the late seventies.
However, he was given a new lease of life in 2004, when Richard D James’ Rephlex label, beat Morgan Geist’s Environ label in an unwitting race to license the 1978 ‘Disco Club’ EP.
Since then BDDC has been busy back in the studio producing highly rated analog-tastic releases for Lo Recordings and collaborations with Jon Spencer, Afrika Bambaataa and CocknBullKid.

Steven Gene Wold, AKA Seasick Steve, is the real deal. A well travelled, educated and likeable man with the stories, tattoos and music to prove it.
Essentially, Steve is an American blues musician, but with his personalised guitars/instruments constructed from cigar boxes and not one has a complete set of strings. Seasick has developed this unique sound into something relevant for today’s ears with a trademark sound like no other.
The Basement Sessions team were privileged to have (in his own words) "this dog" in for one of the most gritty and exciting performances yet.

Dylan Baldi is the 19-year-old frontman of Cleveland, Ohio’s power-pop band Cloud Nothings. Baldi records all songs himself, but tours with a full band to recreate the distinctive trademark sounds in a live setting.
Seriously high energy riffs and hooks with over laid melodies, lead to bang on accessible pop-punk.
The Band took some time out of their busy UK tour to come down and blow the roof off our humble Basement. The effect was devastatingly loud but magic for this full electric session from the band.
Big things ahead for these young men.

The Guillemots are Fyfe Dangerfield, MC Lord Magrão, Aristazabal Hawkes & Greig Stewart.
This Mercury and Brit nominated band have certainly earned their stripes as a killer live act and established song writers. Formed back in 2004 they've had a number of successes along the way including the hit 'Get over it' that charted at 20 in the UK.
On 18th June 2009, a post appeared on the Guillemots' official website stating that work had commenced on their third album and on the 18th April 2011 'Walk the River' Arrived.
The band played us two exclusive versions of ' Vermillion' and 'I must be a Lover' from their beautiful new works.

If you've never heard of Peter, Bjorn and John, then what have you been doing for the last 12 years?
These highly talented Swedes are all skilled musicians in their own right, apart from the band we all know and love. Björn is a successful producer of acts like Lykke Li and Primal Scream, John has released 3 EPs with his alterego, Hortlax Cobra, and is a member of the band Holiday For Strings; while Peter has released 2 solo albums, one in English and one in Swedish, as well as an album with the band Tutankamon. But when these three gentlemen are together, something magic happens.

These highly talented Swedes are all skilled musicians in their own right, apart from the band we all know and love. Björn is a successful producer of acts like Lykke Li and Primal Scream, John has released 3 EPs with his alterego, Hortlax Cobra, and is a member of the band Holiday For Strings; while Peter has released 2 solo albums, one in English and one in Swedish, as well as an album with the band Tutankamon. But when these three gentlemen are together, something magic happens.

Digitalism
Digitalism is an indie dance production duo hailing from Hamburg in Germany. Consisting of Jens (“Jence”) Moelle and Ismail (“Isi”) Tuefekci, Digitalism sprung to global fame in 2007 with their debut album ‘Idealism’ and accompanying dancefloor-smashing singles ‘Zdarlight’ and ‘Idealistic’.
Originally known for their ferocious, bit-crushed and highly compressed style of production, they emerged at a time when the fusing of peak-time dance beats with a rock and roll attitude was reinventing electronic music for a new generation.
Now on the eve of 2011‘s ‘I Love You Dude’ album, the boys are staying true to their groove-heavy roots whilst adding a new pop sensibility aimed squarely at the radio.

Nick, Vince, Zach and Jordan make up Mona. Hailing from the musical 'holy grail' of Rock ‘n Roll Nashville, Tennessee, the band have been working hard touring globally and earning their stripes as a one of the live acts to catch this summer. Certain critics have even started branding them as the new KOL, but we'll let you make up your own mind there.
The band came down to the basement to blow the roof off with our first 'full' electric set up and established a new level of loud at AllSaints HQ.

White Lies
White Lies are an English band from Ealing in London. The band consists primarily of Harry McVeigh (lead vocals, guitar), Charles Cave (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Jack Lawrence-Brown (drums).
Their sound matches a sort of synth pop immediacy with a very British post punk aesthetic Known for presenting dark lyrical themes wrapped up in a euphoric pop sensibility, White Lies first LP ‘To Lose My Life…’ was 2009’s first number one album and 2011 has heralded the band’s sophomore effort ‘Ritual’.
The band popped down to the Basement to talk about the new album, live shows and tour stories.

The ever articulate, intriguing and punchy four-piece came into the basement here at AllSaints fresh from their hugely successful US tour.
The guys performed two new alternative versions of the hits 'Beginning of the Twist' and 'Struck Dumb' before giving AllSaints an exclusive preview of their new works. 'The Keeper' is a local 17th Century folk hunting song from the North East, performed with all the passion and northern pride you'd expect from the band; the results are incredible.
With The Futureheads impeccable four part harmonies and one guitar, this was one for the most powerful sessions we've had yet, truly breathtaking stuff.

AllSaints invited them down to the Basement Sessions on a snowy London night in late December where they recorded three alternative versions from their critically acclaimed album “Astro Coast”. The Session speaks for itself showing the Surfer Blood boys are more than competent musicians and these intimate exclusive versions bring to the surface the more beautiful and catchy alt/pop song writing from the band.
